We want to take a moment to express our sincere gratitude to Sarah van Sloten, our first 2023 featured artist from the ARTS program here at the Bowness Community Association. Sarah’s artistic talent and creativity have brought so much joy and inspiration to our community!
Over the last few weeks, Sarah has held three wonderful events that have delighted residents of all ages. Her meet and greet was a great opportunity for members of the community to get to know her and learn more about her art. The mail art workshop was a huge success, with both kids and adults creating unique and special art packages to be mailed across Canada. And her Good Morning Storytime event was a delight for kids and parents alike, as Sarah read some of her favourite stories and shared her love of art with everyone.
In addition to these events, Sarah also had some incredible art installations on display at The Landing (along with some hidden poetry snippets around the building) which added a beautiful and creative touch to the Community Association building. And for those who missed out on the events or installations, DIY Mail Art Packages are still available for pickup, and her Bowest’ner interview is posted on our blog.
We are so grateful for Sarah’s dedication and passion for the arts, and we are honoured to have had her as our featured artist. We hope her creativity has inspired everyone in the community, and we look forward to hosting many more free ARTS events in 2023 with James Ziegler up next.
Thank you, Sarah, for sharing your art with us!
