About Melba

Melba is a local Bownesian and the owner of Bowness Soapworks and her love of handmade has been a part of her life since early childhood. Her dream is to share her knowledge and decades of experience in handmade and traditional skills with her community and loved ones through her adventure soap company!

Born and raised Alberta, Melba came from a family of cooks, chefs and restaurant owners. She grew up running through the back kitchens of small Alberta Chinese Western restaurants and learning the value of hard work and community at a young age. She learned to wrap wontons at the age of 3 and has since made it a tradition to share her recipe with friends, family and community.
