During this free 3-hour course, Environmental Public Health Educator Theresa Wawrykow will go over the basics of food safety. The session will focus on how to prevent foodborne illness through proper temperature control of food, good personal hygiene, cleaning and sanitizing the food area, and preventing cross-contamination. At the end of the course, participants will receive a certificate from AHS that is valid for 3 years. The course is suitable for teens and adults! Light refreshments will be provided.This course is great for anyone who wants to learn how to handle food safely, and especially for those who volunteer at events and may be handling food, such as at the Bowness Holiday Dinner or community potlucks.
