Neighbour day at the BCA - Thank you Bowness!

This Neighbour Day couldn’t have been more perfect as we welcomed hundreds of community members to the BCA greenspace to share in a a day of fun, sharing, and connection. The day culminated in Mudfoot Theatre’s performance of Yabber: A Musical Junk Tale, bringing laughter and delight to all in attendance.
Geneviève Paré from Mudfoot Theatre had this to say about the day:
Today was awesome! Our ideal manifestation of the show and market was realized today. This project was born during the dark days of COVID, when gathering wasn’t an option, and art had all gone online. We didn’t know it would take three years for this project to fully manifest, but when we started, what we wanted most was to bring people together again. It was so wonderful to see the revolution in action today. The revolution towards togetherness, sustainability, and inclusivity. I saw so many smiling faces today… tonight our hearts are full.

Neighbour Day at the BCA wouldn’t have been possible without some pretty awesome folks. Thank you to the Lions Club, Discover Bowness, Trellis, Knead Relief, Rise Calgary, Children’s Cottage Family Resource Network, Councillor Sonya Sharp, and of course our mighty volunteers! From hot dogs and cotton candy to face painting and free massages, there was something for everyone during the Free Market festivities before the show!
