Join us for a zero-proof mixology workshop where flavour meets creativity! In this hands-on session, you’ll explore fresh, plant-based ingredients, learn zero-waste techniques, and mix up healthy elixirs that are as fun to make as they are to sip. Together we’ll toast our creations, share tips, and enjoy a taste of the garden in every glass.

Meet the Facilitators
Gii (Graham Masters)
Gii is a 2Spirited non-status Native from unceded Mi’kmaq territory who now calls Mohkinstis (Calgary) home. A permaculturist, chef, and mixologist, Gii currently works as the Indigenous Facilitator at the Alex Community Food Centre. When not in the kitchen or garden, you’ll likely find him out by the lakes and rivers—or chatting with the plants and animals.
Nio Evelynn Mendoza (@NioEvelynn)
Evelynn is a transgender woman, mother, singer/songwriter, and home mixology enthusiast. Since 2024, she has been co-facilitating zero-proof drink workshops with the Alex Community Food Centre, sharing her passion for natural, fun, family-friendly alternatives to sugary sodas. What began as a way to mix up healthier treats for her and her son has grown into a joyful way of connecting with others through flavour.
